Our favorite sites on the Web:

In doing biblical research on the web, I have come across several interesting
sites. Here are a few:

|
 |
The Library of Congress website on its exhibition of the Dead
Sea Scrolls

|
 | Information on ancient coins from 600 B.C. to 1750 A.D. or later, and
places to purchase such coins can be found at several good sites: Edward
J. Waddell, Ltd.; an interesting FAQ
on collecting ancient coins; Ancient
Treasure Coins for sale from the Greek, Roman and Byzantine periods; a
website about the ancient world and especially about ancient coins sponsored
by The Celator,
the world's premier journal for ancient coin collectors; and Astronomical
Symbols on Ancient and Medieval Coins -- a website dedicated to the
starry events beyond our world and how the ancient and medieval peoples
viewed them. There are many many more sites, but these will get you
started.

 | Century One Bookstore -- a website
for interesting, discounted, rare, out of print, and/or "gently
used" books on Christianity, Jewish, and other "0 A.D."
topics. This site has some very informative presentations by various
scholars on such topics as the main
events in the history of Jerusalem, Crucifixion
in antiquity, the credibility, accuracy and sources of Josephus,
the First Century Jewish historian, the
Madaba Map - a 6th
Century A.D. church which had a mosaic map of Palestine, encompassing the
area from Beth-shan to the Nile river in Egypt and from the Mediterranean
Sea in the west to the Arabian desert in the east, as well as other
items of interest. |
